Chun-Hian Lee (1939.11—) is a professor and PhD supervisor of the School of Aeronautic Science and Engineering, and also the director of the National Laboratory for Computational Fluid Dynamics of Beihang University and a member of Chinese Academy of Engineering (elected in 1997).

He studied in the State University of New York and the California Institute of Technology from 1972 to 1974, and carried out pre-research on space shuttles and missiles at Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company from 1975 to 1980. In 1980, he began to teach at the Beijing Institute of Aeronautics (now known as Beihang University). He was the director of the library of Beihang University from 2002 to 2005.

Prof. Lee is an expert in aerodynamics and aircraft design. From 1987 to 1997, he engaged in the development of China’s heavy-lift carrier rocket and space transportation system plan of the 863 Program.

He was awarded several honorary titles, such as National Outstanding Teacher and Excellent Worker of the 863 Program, and the Ho Leung Ho Lee Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress. He began to enjoy the special government allowance from the State Council of China in 1991. His publications included over 100 papers and technical reports.
